Standard Chartered Bank has received the "Bangladesh Association of Software & Information Services (BASIS) Best IT Use Award 2009" from Dr. Dipu Moni, the Honorable Foreign Minister, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh at a gala ceremony held recently at Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre.
On behalf of Standard Chartered, Mr. Monitur Rahman, Country Technology Manager and Mr. Arshadul Hasan, Chief Information Officer received the prestigious award for application of their “PDC Management System” developed by Business Automation Ltd. Mr. Dipankar Talukder, State Minister for Hill Tracts Affairs, Mr. Habibullah N. Karim, President, Mr. M A Mubin Khan, Director and Mr. A Towhid, Chairman of the Standing Committee on National Events of BASIS were also present at the award giving ceremony amongst others.

BASIS (Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services) is the national trade body representing the Software and IT service industry in Bangladesh. The association currently has over 260 members. BASIS member companies account for the majority of the revenues generated by the software and IT Enabled Service (ITES) industry in the country.
